Floor Seats!

My husband is the luckiest man on earth (and not just because he married me!). He seems to win every contest he enters, or falls into free stuff all the time. Thursday he registered with a local radio station to win tickets to the Grizzlies/76ers game last night. Well of course he won, and we went down to the station to pick up our winnings. The tickets were for section 4 row 1 seats 1 and 2. Sounded great to us!
When we got to the Fed Ex Forum last night, the kind workers pointed us over to the free buffet and mini bar. We were issued wrist bands and told to come back as often as we wanted and that we could take our food and drinks to our seats with us too. They served ceaser salad, rolls, pasta, pork chops, rice, fresh green beans, and the most incredible loaded mashed potatoes I've had! yummm. We ate course 1 there, then filled our plates again to take to our seats. We were directed over to the baseline, right under the basket, where seats 1 and 2 were soft chairs set up right on the court. I'm sure the more desirable seats would be along the sideline instead of under the goal post, but I thought they were incredible! We saw all the action as close as you can get... the players beads of sweat, their sideways glances, the details of their tattoos. We watched the coaches shout out instructions and yell at their players. And we were on tv every time the ball was down our side of the court.
After the first quarter, the dinner buffet was cleared and the dessert spread was put out. Yummy brownies, cookies, apple pie, chocolate-rasberry something, lemon pie, and a fresh popped popcorn stand was there for our enjoyment. This is the way an NBA game was meant to be watched.

Wow - that sounds good. In college the sister of my roomate sang the national anthem at every honme JAZZ game. We got to sit in those types of seats and I didn't even appreciate them back then. How stupid is that? I was a HUGE JAZZ fan a few years after that and really regretted not enjoying it more.

Did you take some awesome pictures with your new Cannon???

So are you saying that we should have Craig buy us some lottery tickets?

Craig sounds like Jason's brother - he always gets free stuff and/or falls into incredible deals. We keep waiting for it to rub off on us!!

How cool. He is a lucky guy...but mostly because he married you :) Dave and I have never been to a game here together. I love date nights that aren't the usual dinner and a movie.
