Merry Christmas!!

Fabulous Christmas! I woke to the sounds of the boys trying to sneak down the stairway; they haven't succeeded yet! Santa went overboard this year and the kids loved every minute of it.
We started out with opening up stockings and checking out what Santa left. Then we paused for a delicious breakfast. Brian, Crissy, and Addie came over to watch us open gifts. And later in the day Ron, Jane, D-Bob, Sandy-K, Ava, and PJ came in from Arkansas to spend a few days with us. What a great Christmas.....oh, and birthday for Craig!! Happy 42nd sweetie!!

Christmas Eve

As the children were nestled all snug in their beds, the stairway was being sabotaged while Santa finished filling the stockings and putting out the gifts!

Extreme Candy Houses!

Michelle came to visit us this past week! It has been way too long since I've seen my sister! She loved joining in on our annual candy house making evening. Last year was such a great success, that we broke out the glue guns and made it an 'extreme candy house making event' once again!

Basketball Season

Bryce started playing city league basketball last week. It's so exciting to go to his games and cheer him on. So far his team is 4-0. Go Heat!

Goodbye Lisha

My dear friend, Lisha, is moving to Philidelphia. A few of us took her out to dinner before she left. She's been the greatest friend to me for the past four years, and I'll miss her. (Pictured: Vicki, Ginger, Lisha, Charlene)

Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! Crissy and I cooked up a great thanksgiving meal together. We had mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, rolls, stuffing, corn, green bean casserole, mac and cheese, cranberry sauce, frog eye salad, pumpkin pie and a smoked turkey from HoneyBaked ham. Delicious!!! We're so thankful!

Brotherly Love

Everyday when Bryce comes home from school, he grabs a snack and watches tv to unwind from the stresses of high school. I love how everyday, Tolan climbs up on Bryces lap and cuddles with him watching a tv show he doesn't understand. Tolan just loves Bryce, and Bryce adores Tolan. Makes a mom happy!

Halloween & Race for the Cure!

Friday night we had our ward Halloween trunk-r-treat. The kids had a great time -- Jared invited his friend Eric, and Alana invited her friend Rose. Bryce manned the ring toss and handed out candy while Craig kept track of all the kids.

Where was I? At home, icing down my torn calf muscle!! I just started tennis lessons that afternoon, and 10 minutes into the lesson I felt a 'pop' in my leg as I was going for the ball. I guess that last 'health update' entry was a bit premature! I'm now enjoying crutches and mild stretching exercises.

Soooo, I was the official photographer for the Race for the Cure on Saturday morning. Craig, Brian and Crissy did awesome, coming in together at just over 30 minutes. Way to go!!

Health Update

Just a little health update (for those who are still interested!). I just had a heart scan and blood workup and happy to report that my body has finally bounced back from all it's gone through since '08. My heart's ejection fracture had been low due to the Herceptin treatments I was taking up till last summer, but it's now back to normal. My blood work showed everything's great! So on to the 5K Race for the Cure Saturday!!!

Fall Break in St. Louis

Ron, Jane, Sandy, Penelope, Brian, Crissy, Addie, and all of our family met up at St Louis for four days of fall break fun! We toured Grants Farm, took in the zoo, the arch, the Magic House and the City Museum. In between we ate some delicious food at Pappy's Smokehouse, Koppermans, the Pie, Fitz's Soda Bar, the Fountain, and Baileys Chocolate Bar! Great way to spend my 37th birthday!!
