Computer Crash!
Our hard drive crashed and I lost three years worth of pictures!! We were able to recover all other files, thank goodness, but the photos are gone. Craig is trying a few other things before giving up. I'm thankful for blogging, so at least I have a minimum saved for remembrances. Let this be a lesson to all: Back Everything Up!

That's so horrible!! I put my pics on CDs, but I'm behind and have many on here that I haven't done that to yet...I'll do it right away! Best of luck with the retrieval. (one of our laptops crashed last year and some people from the Technology Dept. at the local college worked on it as a project and recovered everything...maybe at U of Memphis something similar could be done??)
Sigh...I feel your pain. That happened to us a couple of years ago, and we couldn't get anything back. Pictures now stay on my camera card until I'm certain I have time to download them and back them up immediately to a DVD. (Of course, my sister-in-law likes to remind me that camera cards can fail, too, so my current system isn't exactly fool proof either.) =)
Have you looked into having someone with a "clean room" take a look at your hard drive? It's expensive, but they often have success where "regular" techies don't.
Wow, that's awful. I know that happened to Joni Garrett a while back and they lost all of Blake's mission pictures. Dave's right next to me right now and we're double checking to make sure everything is backed up. I'm so sorry and so sick to my stomach for you!!!
