I knew it was coming... hair loss! Friday evening I noticed a few extra strands of hair falling out and I wondered if this was the beginning. Yesterday I could run my fingers through my hair and each time about 10 strands would come out. I was watching a two hour session of church conference on t.v. yesterday afternoon, and when it was over there was a nice sized pile on the floor where I'd place the strands after each pass through my hair. So last night, I cut my own hair even shorter! It's now about two inches long all over. I continue to shed today, but it's pretty evenly distributed, so it's not noticeable to others yet. I had fun styling my 'new do' -- (I make a pretty good female Wolverine when I style it up on the sides).
I'm not jumping out the door to buy a wig yet, I think I'll start with hats and scarves and see how that goes.
I shed a few tears yesterday when realized that 'this is it', but I'm really doing fine with it now. This is the least of my side effect worries! No pain involved, and it will grow back later, and it's actually nice thinking about not needing to style my hair everyday. Hopefully I'll lose my leg hair too!

Oh that makes me sad. What a strong woman you are to have such a positive outlook. Dave's standing right here and he said to tell you that he's in the same boat as you...loosing his hair too! Of course for different reasons. Dave and I are both inspired by your uplifting attitude. Thanks for changing our outlook on life today.
Love, Nicole
I love you Cheri! Thinking of you...

I thought your new hairstyle ( the shorter version) looks very cute..
I am always glad to see you out and able to enjoy some time with the children and getting some fresh air..that belly is getting round so we know the baby is growing every day !! Just want you to know that we are thinking of you!! Love Jessica
You make me smile. Thank you. You're in our prayers....as always :)
i imagine (in the kind of way that i really can't imagine) that it's kind of like when you're 8 months pregnant, your body completely alien, and your ankles start swelling. for some reason those ankles swelling puts me over the edge. it doesn't hurt and you know it will go away...and since your pregnant as well, i just hope for you that your ankles aren't swelling too. oh cheri, i'll say an extra prayer tonight that you will always be able to look in the mirror and see how beautiful you are. love you!
I'm so sorry! We pretty much knew it was coming, but that doesn't make it easy when it does happen! You are so incredible - we are sure praying for you. Just think - when it grows back, you might have totally different hair (curly, straight, different color). What an adventure. But that same beautiful face shines forth! We love you!
You are amazing and we love your hair short. We are supposed to be inspiring you and you are the one inspiring us - what's up with that?
Love you bunches

Hi Cheri,
I found you through Sandy's blog. I can't believe how much Alena and Ava look alike (especially since Ava looks so much like Derek!).
Your hair looks FAB! Abi lost her hair last summer (still guessing why) but we always comment on how happy we are that it did because her hair is so funky and chic now.
You are in my prayers!
Missy
Cheri,
You will ALWAYS be beautiful...with or without hair. Your sweet spirit and amazing faith is an inspiration to us all!
Wouldn't that be nice to pick and choose where we lose our hair? I stand in awe at your positive outlook. Prayers are poured out for you and your family daily!
Cheri
It was great seeing you Tuesday morning and having a chance for several of us to visit. I know you have additional med treatments/ procedures coming up and we will be thinking of you. I have been really working to teach Lexi how to cook over the past few months. Look out...I think you and the family will be a recipient of some of my lessons here soon !! I will try and "direct" her toward a snack ya'll all can enjoy !!!
Know that we love all of you and will be sending extra prayers your way this week . Love Jessica
Cheri,
Great to see you and Alena on Tuesday! That's a cozy spot to chat, and I hope we'll all get together again soon. And Alena was soooo good; mine would have been climbing the walls! Love the hat... you looked beautiful!
