Alana came home from preschool yesterday with over 75 red bumps all over her body! Normally I'd assume that she was attacked by bugs on the playground, however, she was just at her friend Regan's house 10 days ago where there was a small outbreak of chicken pox! I took her in to the doctor right away, and he assured me that it could very well be either! Thanks Doc! We just have to lay low and see what the bumps do. So far no fever, so we're hoping for the bug bite theory. We'll keep you all posted... Wednesday, September 17, 2008
Bug Bites or Chicken Pox?
Alana came home from preschool yesterday with over 75 red bumps all over her body! Normally I'd assume that she was attacked by bugs on the playground, however, she was just at her friend Regan's house 10 days ago where there was a small outbreak of chicken pox! I took her in to the doctor right away, and he assured me that it could very well be either! Thanks Doc! We just have to lay low and see what the bumps do. So far no fever, so we're hoping for the bug bite theory. We'll keep you all posted...

What is up with bumps lately? Eliza's school nurse called yesterday telling that Eliza had white bumps all over her hands and in between the cracks. I didn't worry and told them to just keep in her in school and I would just see them when she would come home. Later on that night she figured out that there were ants in her bed and that is how she got the bumps. They are ant bites...ouch!!! Hopefully your problem is not the chicken pox but bug bites too! Ouchy, eechy!!
craziness! Poor alana. Hannah said that chicken pox would be worse so I guess we're hoping it's not that. But that many bug bites seems bizarre. I hope whatever it is, that they aren't too itchy. Be brave Alana!
