That Thy Burdens May Be Light

I love to read the scriptures, and the other night I was reading the Book of Mormon in the book of Mosiah and came across a verse that talked about a righteous people that wanted to serve God, and were "willing to bear one another's burdens, that they may be light". I guess you could say I've had a few burdens this year. Yet, I'm really doing very well through it all, because of the many people that have been willing to bear this burden with me, so I don't have to take it all on by myself. The overwhelming support from so many friends and family (and even strangers) has lifted me up and carried my through these past 5 1/2 months. I've had help with my children, with meals, and with household chores. Friends have dropped off loafs of bread, sweet treats, and even ready-to-go family home evening lessons! My bedroom dresser is topped with cards, letters, and homemade get well pictures. I just found out Sunday that the primary children at church have been praying for me every week! And I know that I'm being blessed with fewer side effects from the chemotherapy. Even the doctors are amazed.
Tomorrow is my second to last chemo appointment, which means I'll be wiped out Thursday - Monday, but back in the swing of things after that!
So I just wanted to thank everyone for helping to lighten my load. I couldn't do all this and keep smiling without the love and support coming my way. I've learned a lot about service this year and am excited to be back on the 'giving' side again hopefully very soon.

And if anyone had any doubts as to why you are the special woman you are - all they have to do is read this last entry! I also know that people are not only continuously praying for you all over here, but you are also being prayed for by many who aren't here but still know you so well!! You are being given blessings because you are the humble and wonderful mother, wife, friend, grand daughter, and daughter that you are. We all feel blessed to try to help you any way we can! You are SO VERY VERY LOVED!!!!!

I am thinking of you during this stretch of time after your most recent chemo...Hopefully by early next week you will be feeling better ...I dropped off dinner for ya'll Thursday evening as we headed for "Back to School" night for Lexi. I supplemented the chicken pot pie with some chocolate chip squares that I know the kids will love as Lexi could eat 100 of them. We love you and are praying for your recovery. I will be in touch again soon. Love Jessica
