Well, just when I'm mentally set on the schedule of treatments ahead, the doctor calls and adds another twist! My surgeon wants me to go in on April 11th for a mammogram and to have a 'clip' implanted in my tumor. The idea is that if the chemo shrinks the tumor substantially, they'll still be able to find it easily when the time comes for breast surgery. This procedure is done with local anesthetic and isn't considered 'surgery' as much as just an implant with a large needle. (I guess that's supposed to ease my mind!)
Sooo another appointment put on the calender!
I went in this morning to have blood drawn to see how the chemo has affected me this first week. So far so good. My white blood count has dropped, but they said that was to be expected. I now need to be careful about staying away from sick people and large crowds, so I don't come down with anything. Otherwise, I feel pretty good! I haven't been bothered by the multitude of side effects they say I could have. So, I'm counting my blessings!!

Gulp! That sounds like a good news, bad news kind of thing. Great that they expect the tumor to shrink that much, not great that you have to have another surgery. You continue to be in our prayers and thoughts EVERY DAY!! We are so glad to hear your little guy is growing so well. Have you picked out a name yet? Yes, I just had to ask and add to your stress. You are an awesome example and we love you. Do you need another Icee yet?
I agree with Debi, Gulp! Kinda makes my chest hurt.
Well, I'm so glad to hear the side effects are minimal thus far. Good luck with the implant. Love you!
Cheri - the chip is minor compared to the portocath. You should be ok - I hope that you continue to do well on the AC. It threw me for a loop. I felt like my reaction to it came in waves = each wave was progressivly worse. Not to freak you out - but to prepare you incase it happens. You're in my prayers! Be strong! :) Email me with any questions: gingerhmwk@aol.com or snaps75@gmail.com

Cheri,
What an amazing way to keep up to date with your life. Thank you for taking the time to do this. My sister Lisa's friend Heather is in your ward and forwarded her your blog. I am so sorry for the trial that has been placed in your life. You are in our thoughts and prayers and I know the Lord is mindful of you and your family and will continue to sustain you. You have always been an example of a strong and positive person. I know these skills will be a blessing to you now.
